Uptown Girl's Win Win Divorce

This has to be a laugh, not excusing apparent indiscretions within the marriage and the viewing of pornography by an adult but Christie Brinkley has settled her divorce proceedings with husband Peter Cooke to the tune of $2.5 million with visiting rights to their children. We may not agree with his extra marital affairs or internet activities but the former "Uptown Girl" must surely have some power and wields it well over the men in her life. Miss Brinkley may be beautiful and come across as all sweetness but was only too quick to get on the witness stand , invite the media to the courtroom circus of her divorce proceedings. Really, who is she kidding, to air her dirty laundry and attempt to shame her husband in public wasn't to protect the children from the grubby goings on but to ensure she got out of it all smelling sweeter than roses. He gets a $2 million payout and she gets to keep all 18 properties and full custody of the children.

"I didn't want this trial. It's humiliating for all of us," Brinkley had said on the witness stand in New York family court in Central Islip, Long Island.

Sure she did, Christie Brinkley knew exactly what she was doing when this all went ahead. Says a lot for her, being married four times and now divorced four times. Peter Cooke may look like an ass in the public's eye but what did Brinkley do that got her to the divorce courts four times?

A Fair Trial.......

Brisbane District Court Judge, Hugh Botting has released convicted child molester, Dennis Ferguson from prison dropping pending charges against him using the reason that he will not receive a fair trial due to previous convictions for molesting 3 children in a motel back in 1988 for which he was jailed for 14 years. The charges that were dropped related to him allegedly sexually abusing a 5 year old girl in her home in November 2005. The judge says it is unlikely to find an objective jury. Dennis Ferguson has been re-located to a residence where police say no children are in the near vicinity and he is being monitored by them. Judge Botting further stated the prosecution of Dennis Ferguson was relying on the evidence of the 5 year old girl who may have him confused with another convicted sex offender with whom she had contact with.
Many have heard of Dennis Ferguson and and witnessed on television how this creepy, disgusting piece of filth rants, raves and generally conducts himself. Everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence before guilt in a court of law and Dennis Ferguson should be afforded these rights as well re: the dropped charges. He should have no problem standing up and proving his innocence IF he has done nothing wrong. It is appalling that the charges were dropped because IF he is guilty, then he gets away with it. Queensland's Attorney General will appeal the courts decision. Whether or not he is guilty of the charges involving the 5 year old, for his previous crimes of child sexual abuse, he is still a waste of oxygen and nothing more than the pile of dog shit I stepped over this morning.
