Amazing isn't it that the Victorian government has brought in laws that require police checks to be done all prospective parents via the IVF program. Apparently this law is to weed out potential child abusers. Those who have an serious sex offences, violent criminal pasts will not be allowed access to the IVF program.
There is no way you can police this effectively. One only has to see how many children are born into families and conceived naturally yet these parents are not forced to undergo police checks. Child abusers, sex offenders, those with violent histories come from all persuasions of life.
Sex offenders, habitual abusers and violent peoples have no business having children but to single out one group of people and subjecting them to this new piece of legislation is in a sense discriminatory when the average couple who do not require assistance with falling pregnant are not required to submit to police checks.
This law will only catch those who have been brought to the attention of the authorities. I would be more wary of those who go undetected throughout life and get away with what they do.
If you sit on your ass and watch tv chances are you are going to be putting on some weight. If one also believes that you can be hypnotised by a 1 minute session of hynosis broadcast on a current affair show, then it surely has to be a case of , Huston we have a problem. How insane is it to think that by watching a 1 minute session of hypnotherapy could cause many viewers to be affected. In this story here, the television station concerned was breached by our communications watchdog. What a joke. The question I ask is does the general population believe as gospel or take so seriously what they see on television?
I am all for people being individuals and not just one of the flock. However, these photos that came in an email ( I get some weird ones), just beggars belief. What the heck is wrong with people that they have to go this far? Is it a fashion statement? A show of individuality? Or a serious case of look at me look at me here I am"? Looks stupid let alone anything else.

Squid rings that is: This huge squid is by no means the biggest specimen caught but for normal anglers it represents the "big one" that many fisherman quite often brag about.
This squid was caught in a net that was being cast for bait. All I could think of was yum, calamari rings but he had been out of the water for some time before he was brought home.
You may be able to get an idea of how long it was , two A4 sheets of paper end to end just about covers it, and a normal size lighter lays beside it.
