A Nun's Life

Having an absence yet again from the blog world, today I thought I would share a few small photos of some happenings here in the tropics.

Herbert the peacock still visits. Some days I do not see him and yes I do worry. However, hanging out the window and calling him, quite often I see Herbert running up from the bush down the back or from across the road. He eagerly awaits his morsels of whole grain bread which is brought especially for him. I was pleased when I came home one day and found Herbert sitting by my front stairs as you can see in the photo. Felix has got used to him and just sits and looks, Herbert unfazed by the cat who I am sure would dearly love to eat him.

Speaking of Felix, he is quite the spoilt one. Not only does he camp on my bed but sees fit to scream at me whenever I enter the kitchen. Don't mind the brushing he also receives, there is someone out there who never fails to remind me to brush this grey fluff ball. Felix is a true master of this house. Poor Tikky my other cat just takes each day and you hardly know he is around. Felix decided to bring me a present one night, how lovely. I had to let the poor creature go, be different if it was dead when delivered but alas he was still very lively.

And now to one of my favorite dishes I put together last week. Sea scallops and prawns cooked in curry and coconut milk. Nothing is measured and it is kind of a throw it together recipe. Served on a bed of white rice, the end result is satisfying.

Yes Herbert is very engaging, he has got to know my voice which I find amusing to see him skip and run when I call him.
Thank you Cherie, good to be back.
Will have to fix that distance Pam :)
Oh Welshcakes I hate to see any creature suffer, even a mouse :)
