NAIDOC WEEK...Logan's Rock
National Aboriginal Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) week is celebrated between July 6th-July 13th. NAIDOC week celebrates a greater understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their culture. From the Top End in the Northern Territory to the southern point of Tasmania, as far west as Perth and the eastern coasts of Australia, there are communities throughout the country that come together to celebrate the survival of Aboriginal peoples, the continuation and recognition of Aboriginal culture and demonstrate the contributions that Indigenous Australians have made.
NAIDOC Week is celebrated by indigenous and non indigenous in the state schools and prior to the holiday season starting, the children celebrated with traditional face painting, boomerang making and throwing , rock painting, and various activities associated with Aboriginal culture. One of my son's decided he would do the rock painting and here he proudly displays his work of art which now takes pride of place on our wall unit.

Logan's rock is absolutely wonderful! Good job!
I think it is great the school observes the NAIDOC week. We all could use a little more understanding of cultures different than our own.
