Giant Moth
Measuring 26cm wing tip-to-wing tip, this giant moth appeared on the veranda of a home north of Cairns. It is known as a Hercules moth.
The giant insects have a 10-day lifespan and are attracted to veranda lights, Australian Butterfly Sanctuary manager Anja Bakker says.

Wow that is a monster moth!
I'd be so excited if one landed on me, err, lets say, near me instead.

Yes Cherie, it's still quite big though. Good photo too, I was checking out his feelers LOL.
They were feeling my tummy! I was quite restrained under the circumstances!
