Media Hype of a Super Mum

In the media we see stories of what is happening around the world and what occurs in the lives of celebrities. In Australia there is a huge media coverage of Cate Blanchette joining our prime minister in the 20/20 summit. Splashed across newspapers and on nightly news we are hearing how wonderful Cate is, what a supermum she is, how extraordinary that she gave birth 5 days ago and is now attending this meeting. We all no doubt wish her well on her new arrival but lets face it, women all over the world have been doing what she is and much more. It is not like she is the first and only woman to give birth and have to get up and about with other commitments . I have nothing against Cate at all, I think she is a great actress. The way she is portrayed at the moment just annoys me, many mothers get no recognition and do much more .

Perhaps there should be a Mum of the Day focus in the media.

I don't begrudge her happiness on the birth of her son, just the media who rave on as if she is Wonder Mum and like it has never been done before.
